I have a question on claims. If I wanted to claim the Lambo twins, would that be okay or would I have to choose one of them?
I would understand if I'd have to chose one of them, but really, focusing on one twin without focusing on the other is not as easy as some people make it out to be.
Would it be acceptable to claim characters for the 2007 movie which were not actually featured in the movie but presumably are there in the background somewhere? For example, could you claim Jazz and Prowl for that 'verse since one of them has been shown to be in it? Or taking it further could you claim Blaster and Soundwave, neither of which have been shown, and then write them '07 style? Just pondering options...:)
Also, if it's not too cheeky to ask, could tf_drabble affiliate with you?
We're sticking with mainly canon characters for now,
ie: those that have appeared in the show, as well as those that have had toys made for them such as Arcee, Landmine, Cliffjumper, etc... and other guys like the Real Gear toys.
Uh... well it's your fic in the end, it's up to you what you want to do with it. If the other community allows you to post already-written stuff, then the choice is yours.
lets say i have an AU that i have made up. can i write my fics for that AU or do they have to be cannon only. specifically, i'm referring to Avalon, which is my G1 AU.
So... we can't write AUs? Even though, for example, Prowl never shows up in the Bayverse universe, and Jazz dies? That's the only real confusion I've got at the moment.
actually, Prowl does show up in Bayverse, it's simply not onscreen. he is in the comics, and plays a rather large role in Defiance.
and actually, the AU question is something that needs to be worked out between myself and the other moderator now that we're in charge. the original no AU ruling was set down by the original mod when the community was first started, and is potentially subject to change. this page will be updated to reflect this, once __wilderness__ and i have had a minute to sit down and discuss that issue.
Two quick questions: 1) Has the AU thing been decided on yet? I've been a little hesitant to get started on the Jazz/Prowl prompts until I know which direction I can go with them.
2) Will there be a problem with me posting the fics in my dreamwidth account, and then linking to them? It's easier to keep track of tagging and comments if the comments are all going to one place, and DW handles crossposting better than lj does.
1) gah, no. __wilderness__ and i have been having a rough time of it trying to meet up online. i'm going to make an executive decision here and she can whap me with a stick later if she disagrees.
Alternate Universes are fine, as long as they meet the following guidelines:
1. No Human AUs. the point in having tformers100 was to have a 100 themes challenge that worked for giant alien robots and not people. this makes Human AUs the aniti-thesis of what we're trying to do and that's bad.
2. all AUs must be clearly> labeled as such. this is as simple as putting the letters AU behind the appropriate universe in your header.
2) no, not at all. lots of people host their fics at other places and then link them over.
*creeps in because she is utterly incapable of resisting challenges like these*
Okay, I figured I'd ask because I have no idea how this would work, but how do gestalts fit into this? They're kind of a package deal so it would void the two character limit... Or could I claim one member while still keeping the others in focus so long as the claimed one is in every fic?
you can totally just claim one member of the team and use the others in the story, but the claimed member must be the actual focus of the story. as many other characters as you like may come in and have a supporting role, as long as you claimed character(s) are the focus of the piece.
Yeah, I figured but I thought I'd ask~ Haha, focusing on just one will probably be harder than it sounds. *flounces off to make a claim because she is a sucker like that*
